“We are downtown because we choose to be downtown,
and we stay there because the Lord God in Heaven has laid his ministry,
deep as life, upon our soul.”
–Dr. W.A. Criswell
The Criswell Center is an advanced multi-functional facility that is the new home for First Baptist Dallas activities and the Downtown Dallas community. It is a seven-story building situated at 1707 San Jacinto (@ Ervay).
Designed by Dallas architectural firm Good, Fulton and Farrell, the facility includes educational space, a bookstore and café, dining/conference hall, two chapels, a large atrium and fellowship mall, staff offices, and a prayer tower. Beck group, builders in downtown Dallas since 1923, performed General Contractor duties for the project.
The church’s Pastor for over 50 years, the late Dr. W.A. Criswell had an unwavering commitment for First Baptist to remain in Downtown Dallas – and from this point to touch the entire world. With the addition of the Criswell Center, the heart of First Baptist Dallas is still Downtown, and will be for generations to come.
There may be something in store for you at the Criswell Center! A variety of citywide events are hosted, and use of rooms is available for meetings, conferences, and cultural events.
